(Aleksandras BALTRUNAS)

  Aleksandras BALTRUNAS was born on 26 February, 1949 in Jurbarkas. In 1967 he finished a secondary school in Jurbarkas and in 1972 graduated from the Mathematical faculty of Vilnius University. He maintained his doctoral thesis at the Vilnius University in 1976. He is working at the Probability Theory Department of Institute Mathematics and Informatics.

The main research field is probability theory (the asymptotic behaviour of subexponential distributions). He published more than 40 scientific papers.
